I think the complaints PPs have mentioned are valid. It is a shame that long-time residents have tolerated poor city services in the past. Hopefully, the influx of new energy (and money) will demand a clean up the plainly corrupt and merely inefficient parts of the bureaucracy. I'm so offended by Barry that I can't even think of anything coherent to say about him.

I think it is worth sharing, though, that I moved here from London (which, as one of the world's greatest cities, is most certainly not a joke) a few years ago and actually find that the accuracy and helpfulness of city service providers here compares generally favorably. That's not saying much at all, of course, and DC is so much smaller that it should be that much easier to manage it without idiocy. We just need to put more pressure on the idiots.
