They're a bad idea all around. And no, nets don't make them safer.

The stupidity never ceases to amaze me. 2, 3, 4 kids bouncing at the same time, are you kidding me?

4 kids, and our rule has always been 'one person at a time, no exceptions!"

Except we have an exception: sometimes the kids will go sit on there to read or talk and in that case, it's fine. But when someone wants to jump, everyone else has to get off.

No problems.

BY FAR- THE most used kids item we ever got. My teens don't use it much anymore but for about 5 years it got hours of use just about every day. They would get home from school, a couple of neighborhood kids would join them and they'd spend hours bouncing, playing games and sometimes just hanging out on it. They even had a few sleepovers/camp outs on the trampoline...
Our homeowners gave us the o.k. to get one.

Same experience here including the sleepovers. The teens will sit and talk on it. Worked wonders. When we got it I told the kids they could jump before school only if they were ready to go before going out. Kids showed up at the breakfast table fully dressed with backpacks ready to go. Ate, ran up to brush teeth and then out to jump.

Danger doesn't come from the trampoline itself it comes from the behavior of an out of control kid who is flinging themselves around endangering others. So long as that is not happening you'll be fine.

Love ours. No issues with insurance, injuries etc.

Neighborhood kid broke his arm on one
Different kid somehow connected his knee to his mouth...he had braces, which dug into/ripped out a chunk of his knee. Nasty scar.
Friend in high school had one and her roof was really low on part of the house. Kids would jump off the roof onto the trampoline. How no one injured themselves is beyond me!

We have one and it's the best purchase we ever made. Our kids are on it constantly keeping them outside, active, social and having fun. Way better than sitting in front of a screen by themselves. Almost all of our neighbors have them too. Just please get a net and relax. We have a two person at a time rule. Let them have fun!!!

I fell off one in middle school and broke both bones in my forearm. Needed surgery.

A child in our city died on a trampoline because he somehow got tangled in the net.

There is one in the yard of our bus stop. I never let my kids won it though they'd love to do it. My kids are heavily into sports and another friend's child severely broke her arm in one so I don't want te risk.
