My dad was a very average looking man and my mom was renowned for her looks. She was a natural beauty and still remains beautiful in her old age. He always insisted that the male of the species is more magnificent and cited examples from the natural world. Most male birds are more colorful than the females, the lion is more magnificent than the lioness etc.
