| I got my favorite, thick rug from Costco 6 years ago and it’s still going strong. |
| Facebook Marketplace. I've gotten like-new Pottery Barn items that way at some great prices. |
Ashley is awful |

Bassett for main sofa / sectional.
Ikea for whatever you like from there (we got basement sofas from there, coffee table, buffet table, TV cabinet, butcher block freestanding counter for extra counter space) Ikea for organizational furniture (love the square type organizers and Billy book cases) For the dining table and chairs / benches: World Market if you like chunky and rustic. Ikea if you like more modern. Macys.com for mattresses. |
All of their stuff looks like every other run of the mill furniture store. |
| I highly recommend checking out Green Front Furniture in Manassas. I am very value conscious and I love Bernhardt furniture; Green Front has way lower prices on Bernhardt than anywhere else (and I've shopped everywhere). They have way more than Bernhardt, though. Huge selection and prices are consistently great. Also they have lots of unique one-of-a-kind items. Note that they are very strict with their no-returns policy. |
We went in there a few years ago and it was very weird old lady type furniture |
Well we are in our 30s and do not have "old lady taste" and found tons of stuff we loved. |
If you have a lot to get, I highly recommend heading to the main location in Farmville, VA. We had to stay overnight, but there was a cute hotel and decent restaurants. The furniture selection was overwhelmingly large and varied. It was worth the trip. |
| In my opinion, the easiest solution in your situation is to find cheap furniture on Craigslist, because there are many interesting and very profitable offers there. But if you do not want to buy furniture from a stranger, then I can recommend the IKEA service where you can find a lot of interesting, not expensive, but very high quality furniture. The only drawback is that the furniture will have to be assembled on your own, but in my opinion this is not a disadvantage, but a plus, because in my opinion it is interesting to assemble furniture. If you do not want to assemble furniture yourself, then I can offer thekairoscollective this is a service through which you can order high-quality, rare and very beautiful furniture. True, the prices on this site are quite high, so I don't know if it will suit you or not. |
I have to agree with this guy. BTW this service looks pretty cool. Do these guys provide discounts or maybe they have a special event when every price is lower than usual prices? |
I have not been to the Farmville location, but I drove an hour to visit the Manassas location last month after seeing so many recommendations of the store on this site. I was very let down. There was very little variance in the style of furniture. It is mostly couches and chairs, if you are looking for case goods (dressers, cabinets etc) go elsewhere. Most of the pieces were huge, suited to a McMansion home. I will say the rug section was great, would go back if I was looking for a rug (was not this time.) Of course YMMV. |
