Any childfree folks here?

Yes. 61 and widowed. I am a teacher and nanny and never had a desire or need to have my own children. I have never once regretted it.

I find it ironic that childfree people are posting here and taking over this space with their own thread.

It's pretty hypocritical. Childfree people bitch and bitch and bitch about parents bring children into adults only spaces. You should respect that this board is a space for parents and take your childfree selves elsewhere.

I will if you stop bringing your children into bars, movie theaters, nice restaurants, or airplanes.

See how your rude behavior works?

Another great parenting example.

You seriously expect airplanes to be free of children? Get over yourself.

No, but PP had a problem with childfree posting here. Read the thread before commenting.

Typical DCUM vitriol from out of the blue.

Just curious, how much space did OP's question take in your head? By your comments, a good percentage.

I wonder what the owner of the board would think if he knew you were bullying posters on his forum?

Guys calm down! By nature we humans are wired to have offsprings.

"I don't want kids" is akin to saying "I never want to fall in love". Can you imagine going through life and never falling in love?
Raising children is a major life experience, if not THE life experience.

Please, it's not the same. It's a ton of f ing work! And usually the mother is stuck with the bill of it. It's not crazy to not want kids! (I have three!)

My sibling and spouse are probably giving up their dream of having kids after a few years of infertility. Would be nice to hear of others' experiences - growing older without kids and where they may be in 10+ years.

OP here: turning 40 next year, DH is 41. Fairly confident we'll remain childfree although I've entertained the thought of fostering if/when we reach our financial goals. We have a hard time meeting childfree folks in the area. It seems like any and all friends we make seem to eventually decide to "start a family" (as if husband and wife are not family), and get sucked into the parenting world of breastfeeding, kids' birthday parties, activities, and all the things associated with raising children. Neither DH nor I have any interest in that lifestyle and have actively decided to do the complete opposite. . . we throw ourselves into our careers and hobbies such as working out, running races, learning to cook, different languages, and travel to the extent we can afford it.

If you're CF, where do you meet other CF friends?

Well, for starters not on DCUM. Work. The neighborhood. Meetup groups. Church.

What religion/denomination? Most churches seem to very family (meaning couples with kids) oriented.
