Real Estate Prices in Arlington

Anonymous
A lot of us (potential buyers) are wondering, do we buy now or wait. The advantage is that it's a great time to buy because you can negotiate which we haven't been able to do in this area for a long time. However, the disadvantage is that prices in Arlington may indeed start to come down.

Hey, did anyone see that article in the Post featuring a new real estate web site for the DC area? It's great because it pulls together at your fingertips all the data points that would help OP and others answer their own question.

It's good at showing microtrends in your target neighborhood, too.

For example, I learned that big, well-kept homes in one zip (20015) that are close to commerce/Metro actually sell for their asking price within 2 or 3 weeks, from 2006 to present. WHICH is totally contrary to conventional wisdom that 'prices are coming down' or 'you can lowball' or whatever. Maybe so, but not in this particular 8 block area.

This surprised me.

the site is sawbuckrealty.com, and I swear I'm not associated with it, just a new fan who read about it in the Post
