+1 I'm listening to the audiobook of this currently on hoopla. It is narrated by Ron Perlman, who's voice is just perfect for the book.

Yes! I liked his other books, too.

Are you into romance, historical, but somewhat magic stuff? If so anything from Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and best two books Acheron and Styxx. Until I read it I wasn't into that genre at all, but couldn't put them down.

I thought Tana French was really dull.

I suggest Liane Moriarty books Big Little Lies, and The Husband's Secret.

Devil in the white city

I loved both these books, but Devil in the White City still haunts me many years after I finished it. I still have the occasional nightmare about it. Interestingly the horrifying bits make the world fair planning and construction parts more memorable. I think I retained more facts from that book than any other I've read. It's truly an amazing book.

I wouldn't call 2 family house a page turner ... ?

Try Good Liar by Nicholas Searle

I'm reading "What She Knew". I believe it was recommended on DCUM awhile back. It's a page turner, can't tell if it's 'great' yet.

Yikes! I'm nightmare-prone so I don't watch horror movies, but now you have me really intrigued.
I loved The Glass Castle.
Thanks so much everyone who has chimed in, can't wait to dive into some books! --OP

Luckiest Girl was a fast fun read, but super-annoying at times. Very snotty voice.

I loved "Her" until the ending. Then I pretty much threw the book against a wall.

Was the Headmaster's Wife good? I bought it on impulse but haven't read it.

OP, try Disclaimer by Renee Knight, and if you can handle violence -- try Never Coming Back by Hans Koppel.

I agree and don't understand the hype.

Also really loved:

Dirt Music and Cloudstreet by Tim Winton
Middlesex by Jeffery Euginides
Tom Wolfe's early stuff like A Man in Full

For something lighter, try Bossypants or Jessi Klein's You'll Grow out of it.
