Please recommend your school portrait provider. LifeTouch is the worst!

Our elementary school uses strawbridge and I liked them. My son is in 5th grade and I never bought the pictures until the school we moved to used strawbridge. The pictures were nice and the price was reasonable.

We just moved into a school that used Freed. I liked the photos, but was annoyed that they say Freed 2016-2017 on the bottom. I don't remember Lifetouch having their name on the final product.

We live in a different part of the country and I HATE lifetouch! I can't believe they are so pervasive. I'm not buying any more photos from them. Does anyone know how to send a message (is it the administration? the PTA?) to change vendors? Why do schools pick them, anyway? Since parents pay, is cost ever a factor?

My child's school used Classic Photography.

Lifetouch definitely has their name on the pictures.

Our preschool used Great American Photo, It was a nice day so they did all the kids outside and the class picture outside as well. We didn' have to pay up front before we had seen the pics. The photos came in about 3 weeks and I think I paid $26 for 1 5x7 2 3.5x5 and 8 wallets.
There were 8 poses to choose from and they were all really good, kid smiling, good quality etc.
I was v impressed.

Our preschool used Great American Photo too and it was great. I love that you got proofs with a few different options before you had to purchase anything.

Same here. Preschool, five poses to choose from and nice bokeh with outdoor background.

Lifetouch is TERRIBLE. I complained to our principal (school claims the photos are a fundraiser) but she said her hands are tied by the superintendent.

I'm not buying the photos any longer.

Our school uses Splendid Portraits. I think the photos come out awesome.

Do a search for Freed in the Maryland schools forum and it will come up because there was a very similar question recently. I think Freed does an awesome job, and my two kids have been at five different Montgomery county public schools at this point, so have experience with life touch and with classic photo.

Take a look at Great American Photo.
We send home proofs of the students for parents to choose from multiple images. We also offer lower pricing.
