Clinton Staff Literrally Banned SEIU Ground Game From Organizing in Michigan

The convinced the Ezra Kleins of the world (and easy mark, obvs) that that they are technocrats.

How did the Russians pull this off?

We can let Cozy Bear or Yogi Bear get away with it.

“They believed they were more experienced, which they were. They believed they were smarter, which they weren’t,” said Donnie Fowler, who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee during the final months of the campaign. “They believed they had better information, which they didn’t.”

**********

And that's a wrap, folks. A concise epitaph for HRC's political career, and right on the money, too.

There was so much shady going on with voter suppression, Russian propaganda, etc. There is no way Hillary would have lost a free and fair election to Trump and there's no way she was going to win this one with the deck stacked against her.

Give me my tinfoil hat now but I truly believe that.

Tinfoil hat. We fucked up dunker election.

^^PP here. It may not be tinfoil hat so much as naivety - after all that's happened I STILL refuse to believe that our country could be so stupid as to vote him in. There MUST be something else at play.

I cannot accept that this many people are stupid and hateful.

That the story opens with political types assuming they're smarter than union organizers is so pitch-perfect liberal.

Wtf. The union organizers were also liberal, no?

All the post-election overthinking is so dumb.

Thanks for posting, OP. Interesting piece.

I think the point of the article is that the grassroots union people--the ones on the ground in Michigan knew there was a serious problem. I just quickly read the article--but I don't think it was coming from the SEIU top. And, this illustrates the out of touch Clinton campaign. Think about her stop at the Chipotle (in Ohio?) on the way to Iowa. They went in and went to the counter--she didn't glad hand anyone. It was almost like she was incognito. I understand wanting to blend into the woodwork--but that is not what a true campaigner would do. Didn't she lose Ohio?

There is a difference between the latte drinking college educated metrosexual third-way political operatives and the grassroots democrats and progressives.

I hope Clintonism and their cronies goes to history's dustbin and never resurfaces.

They will. The question is who will emerge in their place?

Trump's analytics weren't great. Everyone in his camp, including Trump, fully expected him to lose. He had little in a he way of a campaign organization at the federal, state or local level and let the RNC and state GOP organizations do the heavy lifting.

This. On the morning of November 9, no one looked more surprised than Trump himself.
