Stroller bassinet or car seat?

We are in the burbs and the car seat plus ergo was more than enough. Friends who are downtown seem to love their bassinets though.

I preferred to keep DD flat in the bassinet or upright in a carrier -- everything I read told me not to keep her in the car seat more than necessary because of airway issues. I had an uppababy and following the stroller guidelines I was able to move her into the stroller attachment pretty early.

We loved babywearing! I barely used my snap go because we just baby wore. I'm using a stroller now that she's too big for me to wear easily

We have the vista and walked a ton with both kids. We used the bassinet once with DC 1 and never bothered with DC 2. YMMV.

So did you use the regular stroller insert instead? How old can the baby be when you use this along with an infant insert?

I'm starting to think the bassinet may be a waste of $200.

I fell in love with the look of a bassinet stroller, but both of my babies really, really hated it.

My baby loved the bassinet and absolutely hated being carried. He was also only 6 lbs, and i felt better to have him in the bassinet than in the carrier where i couldn't see if he was breathing or not! I have a Bugaboo, so bassinet is a convertible stroller seat, not a separate item like in Uppababy. We also used the bassinet for sleeping in the house during the early days when i needed a bedroom all to myself.

We used the car seat attachment or boba structured carrier until I could put them in the regular seat.
