Did we come close to a "Saturday night massacre"?

Why are you trying to make a controversy out of the AG and Deputy AG's actions when the real oddity is the apparently violation by Comey of standard FBI procedures?

Would the AG's private meeting with the husband of a person under active DOJ investigation for potential violations of national security a violation of DOJ procedure?

It certainly doesn't look good. Isn't DOJ supposed to be careful to avoid even the appearance of impropriety?

I cared then. He made a very political and inappropriate statement at that time.

I cared then too, his remarks in July were way out of line.

You mean by not using investigations for political purposes and not making public statements about investigations within 60 days of an election, absolutely.

Well DOJ didn't do that, sooo...

My question was about DOJ and their actions. Care to answer that one?

Let me clarify..Comey did not make a public statement. He wrote to Congress and THEY are the ones who made it public. You can certainly call their actions political, but for all we know, Comey's just doing his job.

Again..about AG Lynch's direct actions..

Just a question: Instead of the letter to Congress, why not write up a "note to file?" We do this all the time when something can't be disclosed publicly just to cover our butts.
