But the adults need to engage the four year old unless the 11 year old is explicitly babysitting.

Also get big white paper and markers/crayons/etc.

Loose glitter is the devil but glitter in paint or glue is always a hit.

I think this depends a lot of the 11 year old. Not every kid is willing to play down to a 4 year olds level and be nice about it (my oldest would, but I don’t think all her friends would/could). I think it would be safe to assume a grown up will need to help. Please make sure someone also gives the 11 year old some age appropriate attention and/or space to do their own thing.

Did anyone say Guess who? My kids loved that at 4. Also Connect 4.

I would add Sequence (junior version without words) and that Taco Cat card game. Also Gnomes at Night if an adult can help the 4yo a bit.

My kids would definitely play outside all day instead of being cooped up with adults. Yes, even in the cold. So I like the stomp rocket idea, or a fun playground ball provides a lot of entertainment.
