UGH! Sorry, OP, I really don't like black. Won't it make a standard kitchen look very dark? Most people aren't aware of the choice range in paler countertops. I'm not seeing this trend getting off the ground, to be perfectly honest. |
| Love! |
| Frankly, I'd prefer white appliances in the kitchen you describe. |
| White appliances. At least, a white gloss DW for sure. Then if doing a range, i assume it's because you have a gas line - in which case do a professional looking regular stainless. If not doing a range, do a stainless gas cooktop OR black glass induction cooktop. So then the only remaining things are the built in oven and fridge - which you could do either stainless or black stainless. I don't think it matters much at that point. And fwiw, i really like the black stainless look (and I'm a homeowner of a DC historic row house with a white kitchen - so potentially your target market). |
| I agree with the PPs suggesting white. For that kitchen glossy white with stainless handles/trim would look great. I do think the black appliances would look nice in a kitchen with dark wood cabinets or darker butcher block, so long as it was a big and bright enough space. |

| Black stainless is awesome, but I dont reagrd Kitchen Aid as being high end. |
White or stainless steel. Black makes no sense with that. I like the idea of them. I have white appliances and would only get white or black. I hate stainless steel. The problem with that color is it is trendy now but if one out of 3/4 appliances needs replaced, in ten years can they match it or do they have to get a new set. Skip trendy. If anything, do get a counterdept fridge. I hate big ones that stand out. |
| Wow, the cost seems pretty high?!? |

I prefer stainless steel. We just redid our kitchen
with black counters, white cabinets and stainless steel appliances. I love it and I'm in DC. I think stainless steel has a classic look and doesn't look trendy. |
| What about sunset bronze appliances? |
| I say go with stainless, unless your market is DINKs in Logan Circle. |
| No, too harsh looking. Prefer white, charcoal, or stainless. |
| Black stainless is just a few shades darker than stainless, it's a much sleeker look and fits in well with most kitchens. |
| Never. Not all brands have the same shade of black stainless should I need/want to replace something. This is a passing trend. |
