I don't use facebook. It strikes me as really funny to be offended by what goes on on a social networking site.
I have so little time for my "real" friends, ones I interact with on a face to face basis, I can't imagine trying to conduct an online relationship with any depth or meaning. I prefer to meet up with friends on a weekly basis or pick up the phone and give them a call. |
OP, I've been upset by the things you've mentioned, because I'm a bit too sensitive for my own good sometimes...so I relate. I would never tell you to "get over yourself"...just try to put things into perspective. |
Agree with the pp's that 1 is different from 2&3. If you have a ton of friends and do not log into facebook often, it is highly likely you will miss other people's photos and status updates unless you go looking for them. So those are very easily lost in the mix of things and you should not take it personally. #1 is a whole different ballgame though. |
Don't you women have anything more important to worry about???????
Do you really think that the world revolves around your bellybutton? |
In a time where blogging, twittering and FB status updating seem to be the norm, I think that people need to take a step back and ask themselves "who cares". I do not care what you are eating or when you are going to the gym. Why does everyone seem to think that the world is interested in every dreary aspect of your life, punctuated with smiley faces and exclamation points. I think that FB has created "friendships" that would have never existed before. Would you really take the time to call or go out with all of your FB friends? The answer is NO. Then why do you think they need to react to every detail you put on your page.
Seriously, people need to get over themselves! |
