Lol ok. This is very rare. Most first year analysts make less than 100k with a 25k or so bonus. Even four years in, very very few salaries above 200k. Bonuses are probably closer to the 50-100k range than what's discussed here. Even at bulge brackets.


The thing is, people do have these jobs. They exist. I don't know why you assume the above poster is a troll necessarily.

Also the OP asked about careers in finance. Holding out a tiny fraction as the profession at large is painting the wrong picture.

NP. I guess because I don't have kids and I don't live in DC, it doesn't surprise me to think that, despite popular belief, a wife variety of people may be posting on these boards for whatever reason. I first learned about DCUM because I had been posting on another, non anonymous forum and someone on there linked a DCUM thread. I like asking questions on here because it's all anonymous. I assume other people post on here because they also like the anonymity and that you don't need to register or post under a screen name.
