Scripted does not mean phony. It just means not spontaneous. If I were Hillary Clinton I would NEVER go off script, because right wing obsessives are going to parse every. single. word. forever in perpetuity.

It's very difficult for politicians to be spontaneous and unscripted anymore. Google "lawmaker apologizes" to see dozens of reasons why.
