Considering IVF with PGD after two trisomies

OP here. Im following up because so many of you were kind enough to share your stories.

We are still waiting on my karotype and my husband's sperm analysis. His karotype was normal. My numbers:

AMH: 3.3
FSH: 9.1
AFC: 8

Overall, it seems like good numbers for my being 41. Waiting on the outstanding tests, but assuming they come back normal, we may start prepping for egg retrieval in December.

It feels encouraging, yet obviously a long way to go. I'm hopeful and at the very least, happy to have some additional info.

Thank you all for your encouragement and sharing your experiences.

OP here. Came back to look for info for a friend going through IVF.

I did four rounds of retrievals, got over 60 eggs, and not a single good embryo.

Used a DE and had a healthy kiddo at 43. I wish I’d gone right to DE, or at least done that after 2 retrievals. I put my body and mind through so much unnecessary trauma.

We have two amazing and healthy kids. I am deeply grateful to the donor and am 99% ok with it most of the time. There’s still a pant of wishing they were related to me genetically, but most days, I’m too busy being smothered in kisses or playing imaginary games to fret.

I had to go use IVF due to infertility and it wasn’t as overwhelming as I though it would be. It sucks and it’s expensive, but not as hard as it first appears. Good luck and I’m sorry for your losses.

Congratulations, OP! I'm so happy you had a positive experience with DE and are now a mom to two healthy children. It's hard to make that leap to DE - so glad you found success. Thank you for checking back in!
