IVF coverage when the issue is genetics and not fertility?

Kaiser PP here--I have good news and bad news. DD took 2 IVF cycles at age 33. Then we tried for #2 at age 36-37 and had 3 cycles fail. REs were surprised because I was barely AMA and 5 good blasts each time. Everyone is different, but be prepared that there is no guarantee.

I would check with a genetic cousellor. The one at Hopkins told us that if we decided to go that route for future pregnancies they would work with our insurance company to see what they could get covered. In the end we decided against it but if we had the genetic counselor would have been where we started. They successfully navigated other insurance issues for us and any of the big hospitals with an established genetics practice is likely to have the people in place to help you figure this out.

To the poster who appealed to have IVF covered from Kaiser, I'm trying to appeal now. Did you have any specific language in your appeal that you think did the trick? Is there any chance I could see at least some of your letter (with personal info scrubbed out) outside of the forum?
