Here's a link to a really nice looking basement job in DC with 7-foot ceilings. Yes, 8-foot basement ceilings would be awesome but that's just not in the cards for everyone. Meanwhile, it IS still possible to have a very well-executed and beautiful basement even if you have lower ceilings. Most decor examples I see on this site tend to skew more conservative/pottery-barn-esque so I imagine some people will really not like this style. I'm a big fan of scandi and industrial styles tho so this would work perfectly for me. |
| I received quotes that ranged from $20k to $40k to finish my basement with one full bedroom, storage, living room, and a bathroom. If you look around enough you can get this work done affordably. I also think some GCs upcharge based upon the type of neighborhood. |
