He's not a mind reader. Guys are told they should be sensitive, that they should not push for sex when the woman doesn't want it. "No" not only means "no," but also the man should get a woman's enthusiastic, affirmative consent before proceeding.

And then they're also told that women get turned on by aggressive initiations and turned off by half assed ones.
