Punishing an injured child?

If the kid gets hit by a car because he ran into street, that IS the punishment. Natural consequences at it's finest.

My sister broke her arm because she decided to see if she can go over a speed bump while not holding on to the bars of her bike. Needless to say she never did that again. No additional punishment from my parents but she did get yelled at since she was 13 and should have know better.
