PARCC scores -- when will we hear about individual school's stores?

Anonymous
OP. I heard from my school's principal that the individual scores are in but that Maryland is holding them back in order to formulate a public response to them or something like that.

For what it's worth, I totally agree that there is too much emphasis on testing, and in fact, my kid's charter school tends to de-emphasize testing, so much so that last year's 3rd grade PARCC was the first (and only) time she's taken a standardized test. That's part of the reason I'm interested in results; I've never had rest results for her before. Also, I feel like if you are going to go through the hassle of testing the kids, you should at least share the results.

Sending the individual scores to parents is not the reason they give PARCC. It is a report card for the schools. Test scores seem to decline as poverty rates rise. This isn't rocket science but God only knows how much time and money they will spend trying to "fix" the low scores. They can start by lowering class sizes across the board esp in high FARMS schools like mine. 30+ kids in a class is a recipe for disaster.
