How responsible is one for their own health?

If anyone has any ideas of how I may have given myself MS at 20, I'd love to hear them so I can tell people I love to avoid those behaviors. Seriously.

Not MS, but when I was told I had lymphoma, my parents and several other family members told me it was my own fault for being so high strung. Apparently being a high strung Type A gives you cancer. Not what I needed to hear from the people who were supposed to be my support network as I faced battling cancer before I turned 30, wondering if I'd live to see my 2 young kids grow up.
