Be honest, how often do you wash your pump parts?

Those of you that keep them in the fridge, do you let them warm up before you use them????

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I'm in the lazy boat, too! Keep parts in a ziploc in the fridge at work between pumping. On Friday I take them home and wash them. My DS is 9 months now and I've been doing this since going back to work when he was 14 weeks. You're right, OP. Breastmilk is good in the fridge for up to 8 days so as long as you're storing your parts in a cool fridge, I think you're just fine. Anything that makes pumping easier is a win in my book!

I was keeping mine in the fridge at work but it was making me too cold and this was during winter. Ended up just giving them a rinse after each pump at work and laying them out to dry in our pump room (aka closet). Then I'd give them a good wash at home each night.

Once a day. I refrigerate between pumps.

Every other day. I only pump once/day and keep it in the fridge between washes.

I didn't wash them much until I was fighting thrush - that got me washing!

Every day after each use.
Sanitize once a week

+1 This exactly.

+2. This exactly for me, too.

Wow! No idea. I am nowhere near neat, but I found reusing parts gross. So I got 4 sets and just put them all in the dishwasher. It was like $75 to do this and so worth it. I sterilized them and passed them on now that I'm done breastfeeding all the kids I plan to have.

I EP and was washing every time I pumped. Totally miserable. Now that I am back at work I wash once a day. Parts go in the fridge between pumps.

I have 2 sets (more, actually, because it was trial and error to find comfortable flanges) that work for me.

I keep each set in a reusable ziploc bag. I use one set all day, storing in the fridge between pumps, and DH washes it all at the end of the day and puts it on the rack to dry. One set is usually drying while the other is being used.

We agreed long ago that if I was having to spend my time pumping, he would be responsible for cleaning parts, bottles, and packing my pump bag.

So, I never *personally* wash my parts, but the get washed daily. He hand washes or sometimes throws in dishwasher if he's running it. Gave up sanitizing long ago.

Rinse after each pump and put in fridge at work in a bag between. Then wash every night... With allllllll the bottles.

To the pp with the husband helping, applause to you both. Good team work! And the pump parts in a Rubbermaid container is great idea!

I love the cold flanges--feels great. Probably won't in winter, though!

They are thin plastic and warm up pretty quickly .

I washed once a day. Kept parts in the fridge between uses. I'd just fill up a bowl with hot soapy water, dunk them in, do something else, empty the bowl and rinse them off and lay them out to dry.

Change the white flaps regularly.
