Thank you for the advice. Yes of course I will bring it up with the doctor, was just lamenting how hard this is for my son. Will ask him if I need to say anything to the family my son will be staying with.

I would definitely talk with the mother along with discussion of the tics. If you were in her shoes, wouldn't you need to know? I know your son may resist that but this is something he can't handle on his own if there is a problem. If the other mother resists, maybe him going isn't the best choice, especially since they could be in water when it happened again. There's definitely a balance between overprotecting him and letting him experience life so maybe your discussion with the doctor will help. Praying for you as you decide.
