I think the thing that gets me is that nothing is absolute in this life. I've seen more issues with girls because of parents divorcing and/or absent fathers than being the oldest or youngest in class but there are lots of people, myself included, that have had parents with a difficult marriage situation and manage to have our stuff mostly together as adults. You can also have siblings - raised by the same parents, turn out very differently. So in the grand scheme of things - who knows what will be when the PP's daughter is 14. You can only deal with the here and now and make the best decision at the time.
