Apraxia Speech Therapist Recs in Fairfax County?

Immediate PP, I wasn't able to use the link you provided but did search ASHA for CAD. I didn't see anything that indicated apraxia was 'overdiagnosed', just there were a number a misdiagnosed cases. That, of course, is true when you're diagnosing anything.

Also, I didn't see anything that indicated it is 'best' not to 'label' a child until the age of 3, only that evaluating for it in a child younger than 3 can be difficult because of overlapping symptoms. Again, that's not unusual as it can be difficult to get accurate diagnoses for many disorders in younger children. Big difference.

Anyone suspecting her child has a speech issue should get an evaluation and not wait until age 3.
