Is Orlando unbearable in August?

Exactly what I thought when I read the subject.

We did universal in July with this advice and it was fine.

+1. Also, Disney is pretty good about using water and shade to manage lines and crowds in the heat. With a little advance planning (fast pass, going early mornings and returning evenings when cooler, shows that are air conditioned) it's not that bad.

+1. And not just in regard to the weather.

It's kind of like the "I hate summer/I love summer" thread of a few days ago. It depends what floats your boat. We just arrived in the Florida Keys today. Yes, it's hot, but there's a breeze, and we just embrace it. We've done Disney in August, too, and DD so enjoyed it that a little heat wasn't going to deter us. If you are already dreading it, don't do it, but it IS perfectly do-able if you decide to seize the moment and have some Disney fun while you are in the area.
