My kid is a few days shy of 9 months and occasionally falls over, I think because he doesn't know how to get himself down on his belly yet. He's not crawling either. They all develop at their own pace, and I'm not worried.

You may want to ask the ped to check his ears for fluid buildup, even if he hasn't had had any ear infections.
