Introducing chapter books to my 4 and 6 year old

I can't stand these books and once your kids are exposed to them, they'll love them and want to read every single one at the library. Check it out on your own first to see if you are ok with it. I think she's obnoxious and the incorrect grammar is annoying, not cute.

You can do so much better. Let your DCs discover this series on their own at the school library someday. Or not at all.

My 4-year-old DD loves the Princess in Black series. The first one also has a boy protagonist, all the books have cute cuddly monsters. There's three books in the series but I hope there are more soon!

The Owl Diary series, although I'm not sure if your son will like them as much as your daughter.
