I hear Aldi's does that, too! |
Not to mention theft! |
DUN! Dun! Dunnn!!!! |
I agree with this. They are very expensive for the store to buy and maintain. I'm surprised they don't want them back. |
And their parking lot is clearer but they also don't have to hire the person to collect the carts, so that is also a cost savings for them (and no job for someone). |

Why should she care? She is getting paid $15 an hour right out of high school. |
OP do you happen to live in Eckington or close? |
Would it be better if these carts were attended? |
The Harris Teeter near my house has this too. I also like the idea of making people pay a deposit to use a cart. That's the best way. It could stop the lazy losers from leaving carts all over the damned parking lots. |
YES. ![]() |
The store probably does not have a way to transport it back. You'd need at least a pick up truck. |
I use to live in California and there was actually a company that would go around and collect all the carts and return them to the store (for a fee.) I like the idea of the wheels locking to not leave the parking lot, instead of paying the deposit to use a cart...like a PP said, I don't always have the right change on me to put in the machine. |
