Any suggestions for less toxic way to kill tiny ants in kitchen?

This stuff is amazing. Boric acid in sugar so the ants eat it and then die. You can't put it in reach of kids or pets but it works better than anything I have tried including raid, baby powder and ant traps.

Sorry, it is Borax not boric acid. It is non toxic per the website.

That's what I was going to say.

You can also spread lavender and borax around the parameter of your house to help keep them at bay.

Terro worked GREAT for me too. We had a bad problem with sugar ants in the kitchen. They sucked that terro stuff down. This was after a few weeks of unsuccessfully trying raid traps.

I'd say that with terro the ants disappeared in 24 hours.

PP here. I also heard that you can mix sugar and corn meal together. The ants will explode when they eat the cornmeal and it expands in their tummies.

The thing I like about Terro is that it is a sugar bomb that attracts the ants so it keeps the line of them focused on the Terro. With the other ant traps, there's no guarantee the ants are really going to go inside. If you can't get rid of them right away, why not have them attracted to one spot and not exploring your kitchen?
