How to approach roommate about her hygiene

I wouldn't share a bathroom with a roommate. But if I did, I would point it out to her that she's leaving toilet paper on the floor.

That is not direct! Being direct is telling her to stop leaving the crap on the floor. Who cares what she uses, just make sure they aren't left on the floor. Your way is a weak and doormatish. Why would you buy them and wait for her to bring it up?

Sorry OP, no advice, just commiseration. I had a roommate who did use pads, but left the used ones sitting on top of the garbage can, just sitting there, open, not wrapped up...

I brought it up MANY times, she didn't do anything about it. I would throw a piece of toilet paper over it so I didn't have to notice them.

I'm 50. Divorced and child moved to college. Only way I can afford housing is with a roommate.

OP here. Thanks everyone. I guess I just need to approach it directly with her. She's very sensitive and easily offended so I just have to be gentle. I had thought about buying them and just leaving them by her door, but it's like I'm tiptoeing in my own house. I'll wait for it to happen again and then approach it then. Thanks again!
