Any recent Lamb movement?

A lot of parents with access to Deal opt out of the MS feeder. Supposedly, too much focus on computer technology and "behavior" issues. We'll be going elsewhere too.

Last year both lists moved a bunch after school started. Good luck, everyone!

Stay at Shining Stars and give the spot to someone who will actually appreciate it.

It sounds like you really want to go to Shining Stars but think you should consider LAMB only because you have heard everyone wants to get in. And that you have done much more research on SS than LAMB. If that is the case, you should follow your gut and let someone who has a preference for LAMB over SS enter. LAMB is a great school and probably better than SS now, but it has a much longer track record and there isn't any reason that SS can't be just as great as LAMB.

IF you like SS more, stay there. Let someone who would really WANT Spanish immersion and Montessori take the spot.

FWIW, we got into another HRCS and chose to stay at Shining Stars instead of taking the spot. It's a great school, and I think this year will be pretty exciting. It is hard, when everyone keeps saying x is "the best" sometimes to hear past that, and realize what you have works too... and that the best isn't always better--just different.

This is exactly why LAMB should join the common lottery. People with no interest get in and it undermines the whole system, so frustrating.

How far into the school year does Lamb go before it stops offering spots to students when it has an opening?

Under what circumstances does a spot open up once school has started?

How many pk3 parents are in at lamb and another school and still deciding?

Ahh I am frustrated by the lack of movement. We are one of the next few numbers to come up and the PK3 list hasn't budged. I really don't want to be in the position of starting my child at another school and then having to make another transition to LAMB. So frustrating that clearly some parents are holding on to two spots until the last minute.

How do you figure?

I believe you are given only a few days to decide. I remember it being two, but my brain is foggy. You can be enrolled at once school and be "holding on to two spots" for about two days max. And while it is annoying to move your child after school begins, it's worth it. That's when the list really moves because people are reluctant.

That's not true, the common lottery doesn't know you have a spot at LAMB. You can hold both until the first day.

Why did LAMB have so much movement last year?

When we enrolled a previous July, LAMB required us to show proof we were un-ennrolled from the previous school we'd accepted.
