You can buy more (99 cents a month for 50 GB).

Or, you can plug your phone into a PC, move all the pictures from the phone to the hard drive. That will free up a ton of space. Also, removing music helps. Podcasts tend to take up the most amount of space.

I am a simple android user so the higher level phone stuff - especially on an Apple is beyond me.

Use flickr for your photos...there's an app that will upload automatically when you are on wifi. iCloud should be sufficient for notes, calendars, bookmarks contacts. Maybe texts...I've had phones in which my old text showed up, other's they didn't...but if I want to save a particular text I just take a pic of it...which gets backed up.
