If your kids are in an at-home daycare

I live in Kingstowne and our in-home rate is $280/wk. At the daycare centers in the area, infants are over $320/wk. Toddlers and older are less.

We pay $180 a week in South Arlington for in-home care for our infant son (5 months). There are 3 other children.

There is also Monday Morning Moms in Montgomery County that you can call and they will set you up to visit providers in your area. They also provide back-up providers in the event yours is closed. I used a back-up once in Rockville that I really liked, and they seem to have quite a lot of providers in that area. Of course, it is a little extra because you pay some overhead to them on top of what you pay for the daycare, but I've found it's worth it because when your daycare provider goes on vacation for a week, or even just gets sick for a day, you don't have to stay home and miss work.
