I saw Dr. McLaren for my twin pregnancy and he was great. He did my amnio too and did a wonderful job. I did not have issues with the office staff, although i did have to wait up to 30 minutes some times. Once I was running late dUe to traffic and called them, and they said I may need to re-schedule, but they managed to work me in.
The disorganization is interesting... Before my first appointment, I received a reminder call around 4:30pm the night before (my appointment was for 7:45am) reminding me to bring my referral paperwork. Luckily, I already knew I needed it from when I scheduled the appointment but I was surprised by such a late reminder. For my second appointment, I didn't receive a reminder phone call at all (not that I need them... I've just found that all doctors seem to do them). However, I will say that I had a very positive experience with them over the past few weeks. I enjoyed working with Dr. McLaren and the u/s tech on both visits and the report they sent my OB was thorough and informative.

I will never go back to the office either. I was THREE minutes late when I showed up for my appointment and Patty gave me a lecture and told me I had to reschedule. After I bitched about it, she said it would be a few hours before they saw me! WTF. She was able to "squeeze me in" an hour later. I was with my 4 year old who by this time was restless. Since there was no one in the waiting room, I let her run wild just to annoy Patty.
Dr McLaren was very nice and said my u/s was great. When I went back to my OB, the report he had given her stated the baby had a small heart defect. He never once mentioned it to us. |

Patty or Pattinit however you spell it made me life a living hell by submitting something to the wrong insurance and refusing to retroactively pursue a refund. It was a huge hardship to us and I politely but firmly persisted in writing and via phone. She accused me or harassing her. She's a bully. I had the worst experience there. because of her.
Run! |
Why do I have the feeling that 11:06, 11:09, and 11:19 are all the same persoN?

I've never done an on-line review but after seeing the negative comments about Dr. McLaren, I feel obliged to share my experience. I'm 42 and I was referred to Dr. McLaren by my regular ObGyn. I went to Dr. McLaren for two reasons: Placenta Previa & Amniocentsis. Needless to say, I was a tad nervous due to a previous miscarriage & my advanced maternal age. My experience with Dr. McLaren & his staff (specifically Patti) was absolutely fabulous. His bedside manner was terrific... very reassuring. As for his nurses, Patti was my favorite by a longshot. Needless to say, I was shocked to read the negative comments.
Btw - we had a healthy baby girl My husband and I recently discussed that if we are lucky enough to get pregnant again, we are definitely going to use Dr McLaren. He is worth the drive from Arlington to Fairfax.

DO NOT GO. His receptions make appointment and say to you; your appointment was yesterday or was one hour ago. They don’t call? No confirmation? She always says let me talk to him and come back to you, I am sorry he’s busy I can reschedule
I will never go back to the office either. Becarefull DO NOT GO.
Mercy. Two high-risk pregnancies, and honestly, going to Dr McLaren was the best part if both of them. And Patti gave me (free, off the record) 3d ultrasounds both times, and fave us the news of our babies' sex (upon our request) with other (free, off the record) ultrasounds. Dr M was very prompt in calling with test results, and is a remarkably calming man. I can't recommend him highly enough.
I also had a bad experience with the office -- minor, but annoying. But also had a bad experience with Dr. McLaren -- minor, but disturbing.
Why I didn't see this blog before. Same here! Worst experience ever, as someone said I feel them as my enemies. Ater 9 moths I still receiving statements and calls for payments of bills that I paid last year. Without saying how uncomfortable was my experience with them in each appoitment while pregnant.
