| The Catholic school rivalries tend to be less bitter, and more intense in a healthy way. The kids from Gonzaga, SJC, and GP all know each other because they went to middle school together. On the field they are intense and then after the game they are chatting it up with each other...maybe even going to get some lunch. |
While the all don't know one another, many do. And pre and post high school are more likely to be associated bound together by parish, family or neighborhood ties or through their school friends that are connected to others. |

For real. But I think these schools take it too seriously. Shouting at each other like a bunch of hooligans. |

St John's vs DeMatha is very intense.
A brawl broke out in the stands last Fall during a football game. |
The Woodberry-Episcopal rivalry is one of the oldest high school rivalries in the country http://www.virginialiving.com/travel-exploring/bragging-rights/ |
| I can think of at least one example where a school talks about its big rival in a particular sport but the other school has moved on. In this case, it is because the first school is no longer a formidable competitor in the sport it used to dominate. |
| That Woodberry video was scary! My brother went there but I had no idea. Seems a little intense. Landon and StA were traditional rivals from way back but I do think the competition between Landon Prep is more intense because the sports ability level is more compatible and makes for much better games. |
