Expectant and Postpartum Moms
Yeah, I thought we'd use the "convertible" feature but my little guy has chewed adn banged the heck out of it so I doubt we'll be using it for a full size bed. We also got ours a JCPenny on line. I was a bit reticent about ordering on line but turns out we've loved it. |
| Love, love, love our convertible crib - Canalli/ Munire. We bought the set when we lived in New Jersey but I've seen the brand sold here as well. The quality is incredible and it looks as good as the day we bought it 2.5 years ago. |
| I have a Magic Moon crib and it is absolutely so high quality and beautiful. There is at least a 4 month lead time but they are totally custom built and for what you get not that expensive. The retailer that I bought it from is no longer in business but you could google Magic Moon and call them. The manufacturer is in Texas. |

Romina crib from Great Beginnings baby store.
Romina is not made in China like most cribs but is made in Romania out of 100% solid wood. Plus the finishing on the cribs and dressers are water based so we felt it was a safer choice for DD. BTW, we had a excellent experience with Great Beginnings after a disaster with BuyBuyBaby. |
| We got our Pali crib and six drawer chest, along with an upholstered recliner from Baby 2 Teen. It only took 6 weeks and the furniture is beautiful! |
Also bought a Romina crib from Great Beginnings. Same reasons as PP. We absolutely love it. |
|
We got a Stanley/Young America crib (contentment is the style) from Buy Buy Baby and love it. It took about 12 weeks from order to arrive. It is super sturdy and converted to a toddler bed really well, although we did have to buy new parts.
I'd like to find something less $$ and bulky for #2... am looking at berg but BBB and Great Beginnings no longer carry it. Argh. |
For DC1 we bought a crib from Bratt Decor - beautiful but insane cost. Made in the USA. Incredible carvings. Respectable amount of time between time of purchase and delivery. Easy set-up because they did it for us The plan was to use it as an heirloom crib for our future children. I got pregnant again when DC1 was 10 months old so we're using a hand-me-down crib from my SIL&BIL. To be honest, I like it more and it was free!

| We ordered the Stokke Sleepi crib (bassinet/crib/toddler bed system). We ordered it in July (it was on sale then) from Land of Nod and it arrived the following week. We had gone to Buy Buy Baby to see it in person before ordering online. It is really solid and I love that it starts as a bassinet. I am 37 weeks, so we have yet to use it. But, based on reviews I read of it I expect it will be great. |

Although Baby Bargains gave IKEA an A rating, if you read further, they don't recommend if you are going to have multiple children since it doesn't hold up well. But if you are in a pinch, you can outfit a room for under $500.
We went to Buy Buy Baby and bought the Bonavita Peyton crib with the toddler railing. It was under $300 and it was in stock. It was easy to assemble, looks great and so far has held up really well! |
| We got a iron looking crib from Bratt Decor and I love it. Yes it was expensive but it's beautiful. We are pregnant with second as well and first baby is moving into a hand me down and new baby will get the Bratt crib so each child will get to use it. The hand me down is fine but the original crib was such a splurge and I have no regrets. |
| I love my Ikea crib. It was made in Romania, not China. I did use it as a convertable day bed and was quite happy with how easy it was to convert. They make an extra rail for it if kid has still rolls around. It has held up well and we are using it for our second baby. And it was under $100. I also like their bed linens. Cute without being too pink or too blue. |

We also bought the Bonavita Peyton crib (in white) at Buy Buy Baby. Service and delivery were great and we used a 20% off coupon for a nice discount.
Almost two years later and it's held up very well! DD was never a crib chewer so no issues with that. |
| Another Ikea family here. DD is 2 now, and the crib looks just as good as it did when we got it - and she's pretty rough on it. Plus, at under $100, even if she did wear it out before we get to #2, we'd just buy another Ikea crib and still be ahead of what we would have spent on most other cribs. FWIW, we assumed we would just use the same crib for DC#2, but we ended up getting pregnant sooner than we thought (oops) and DD is still happy in her crib, so now we are looking at having to buy a new crib for the second baby. We're going to buy another Ikea crib. |
| We got a really nice Natart crib from Great Beginnings on clearance for $300 a couple of years ago. It was in stock so it came right away. BTW - You don't really need the crib right away. Our DD slept in a co-sleeper next to our bed for the first three months. I don't think the convertible feature is necessary. I think ours is convertible but we just bought a toddler bed so we can use the crib for DC#2. |
