Got home today and cat was super sick. Don't want to euthanize at vet!

OP, I so hope your kitty recovers.
If not (or if/when the end is inevitable, either this week or years from now), euthanasia is the least bad outcome when a pet is in pain and the only road ahead is more pain. It is really, really hard, but the worst part for me has been the uncertainty. Once I knew it had to be done, it was very peaceful. I stayed with my cats through the end. I have a great vet, so I was OK with going to the office (small practice, cats only).
