I agree that wood tile may go out of style fairly soon and you could get tired of the look.
Here is an inexpensive but attractive tile that you may like. It has a bit of a strie to it, but it's subtle. Consider the 12x24 tiles. You need to see it in person to appreciate it. http://www.lowes.com/pd_446993-1813-1095283_1z11oi5__?productId=4616440&pl=1 |
and barn doors have been around since humans began erecting structures... |
I like the wood tile but this one is actually pretty nice if one doesn't want the wood tile. |
+1 OP, they're both nice. I don't think they'll be that dated in a few years. |
| I like tiles that are painted to look like marble (or marble if you can swing it). I love the look. I would also suggest getting the biggest tile you can (and to avoid little, mosaic-like or penny tile). In my experience, the less grout you have, the easier the maintenance and cleaning. I also used epoxy grout - amazing stuff and virtually stain free. |
This is a toss up. Larger tiles are significantly more likely to crack over time. And marble is so 1990 to me. It reminds me of gold drawer pulls and hunter green trim. |

I like the wood like plank tiles. Not sure about using it for a small bathroom. I guess I'm thinking if you are using it because you like the look of hardwoods but need to use tile, wouldn't it look better in a larger area like a kitchen, living room, dining room etc? Also I wouldn't expect to see hardwoods in a bathroom but I think if I did, I picture sunlit, old fashion room wth a claw foot tub and radiator.
What about a tile with a linen pattern to it if you are going for a modern look http://www.efloors.com/daltile-fabrique-gris-linen-unpolished-porcelain-2-x-2-mosaic-p69022ms1p/porcelain/catalog_18037.htm |
