Walk-through next week - what to look for

+1.

Do people back out after doing final walkthrough? Unless there's major damage like a huge hole in the wall or something...

We didn't find out the shed wasn't empty until after closing. Much to our surprise the seller generously left us a riding lawnmower.

I literally just plan on walking through

We delayed closing by about 6 hours because the attic was completely (floor to ceiling) filled with stuff. Once the stuff was out of the way, water damage and structural damage from a undisclosed fire became visible. This resulted in a 7k credit to us at closing. But basically the walk through is just a chance to make sure that everything you're paying for is still there and the house is in the agreed condition. It's more of an issue in markets where the house might have been empty for a while.

How did your inspector not see this?!

Because it was filled floor to ceiling with stuff, perhaps.
