Portland, OR Business Trip with Clients

North Missisippi Ave is also fun (hipster) neighborhood. Andina is an amazing restaurant, but Portland is a real foodie town and there are many excellent restaurants. Pok Pok and Luc Lac are my favorites. McMenamin's is a popular local chain of brewpubs--check out Kennedy School. Powell's books is a must-visit. If you have transportation, Multnomah Falls (about 30 miles away) is a tourists' favorite--though you can hike a short loop behind the waterfall at nearby Horsetail Falls. If you want a wine tasting at a winery, the Columbia Gorge/Hood River Valley is full of them as is the Willamette valley south of Portland. No car? Take the bus to Washington Park for a beautiful view of Mt. Hood from the rose garden (the postcard view)--you can also walk from downtown. Check out Willamette Week for a listing of the free concert in the park/movies in the park/symphony in the park all summer. A walk along the east side esplanade from OMSI gives you good views of downtown too. Tourists always want donuts from VooDoo donuts. Drink beer and coffee, don't carry an umbrella.

Very helpful! thanks!

OP, are you looking for recommendations for places you can take your clients?

I think Portland is a lot of fun, but it might be helpful to know more about your audience before making recommendations. The aforementioned Voodoo Doughnuts is fantastic, but you may want to check the menu before you go. While not all the offerings are nsfw, I'm not sure if I'd want to be deciding between a Cock'n'balls or a Maple Blazer Blunt in front of colleagues or clients.

Mother's Bistro has a good brunch, and I liked the ambiance there a lot.

Portland has an amazing food truck scene, with some very delicious and innovative offerings. Food trucks are all over, but most are at SW 10th and Alder, not far from Powell's.

The Rose Garden is lovely, and the view of Mt Hood on a clear day is beautiful.

The Portland Aerial Tram is nice. gobytram.com.

This is exactly my point. I will have a mix of high level execs. They are mostly fun loving, but I can't take the official events too far. Please be my trip director. Tell me where to take this kind of group. I am overwhelmed with choices and somehow, I have never been to Portland. I don't have any reference point.

Thanks!
