Waiter. Took a vacation from December 20- to end of January. Will take the whole July off and 1 week in September. Will take next Christmas off and summer so we can go to Europe. Just have to give 2 weeks notice.

My SO is a teacher at DCPS and gets paid over the summer. Basically the 10 month salary is paid over 26 weeks.

MCPS 10 month employees don't have the 12 month payment option. I just have my bank automatically move a set amount of $ from checking into savings monthly. That way when summer comes the lack of paycheck doesn't hit as hard. It used to be that if you joined the credit union you could have money automatically deducted from your paycheck into that account which would pay you during the summer but I stopped that after a few years when I had issues with them year after year. I'd rather manage my own money.
