What to buy?

I agree with just getting the basics -- diaper stuff, car seat, some clothes. Also, because you don't really need anything for a while, you could put off getting these basics and just get some fun stuff -- cute outfits, a mobile, things like that. I'm almost 34 weeks, and we accumulated the basics (and some fun stuff) throughout, but mostly only in about the past 3-4 weeks. My husband got our whole diaper stash ready (we're cloth diapering, so he did some research and got supplies over the course about 3 weeks) and picked out our diaper station and diaper set-up. He did our registry on amazon.com a few months ago. We're not getting a swing and a bunch of equipment, because he can run out and get those things if we decide we need them, or we can order them online. One final note: Amazon prime ($75 per year; you get free 2nd-day shipping, cheap next-day shipping) has been a lifesaver ... and will be even more useful once the baby arrives.
