Anyone else finding a ton of caterpillars in the house?

I googled it and "my" caterpillars don't have hair sticking out. Mine are more lightly fuzzy, like velvet. And I keep seeing them near doors and windows, not in the kitchen/pantry.

By the way, every time someone gives me a suggestion, I google image it and then I'm treated to more and more images of bugs. I feel slightly nauseous. I do appreciate it though!

OP here. I don't think so, though it does look similar. The black carpet beetle larvae doesn't have patterns on its segments and these caterpillars do. They do look very similar though. I think it's more likely to be some type of moth.

I'm starting to feel slightly worried that no one else has this problem though. It's just us?

That's a really pretty moth! I wish I had those - wouldn't mind it so much. But those caterpillars are completely different from the ones I have, unfortunately.

Yes, moth larvae. They are usually white but can be brown.

OP here. I agree. But how come they don't seem to be invading other people's houses too?!

Just a guess -- soldier beetle larvae?

OP here. Nope. Mine doesn't have the black body and red head. Apparently soldier beetles are beneficial though, so that wouldn't be terrible.

I'm eventually going to find out my caterpillars are something incredibly horrible, aren't I?

I think your house is going to smell like lavender soon.

Good luck getting rid of whatever-those-creepy-things are!

I have seen some small caterpillars in my house, too.
I am in Ffx County.
I don't think I have seen any coming out of Amazon boxes, though.

You just got one happy momma in there at some point. That's all.

I don't mind most bugs, had some caterpilars by the back door, few came in, but falling out of a box that you ordered? That is weird. Sounds like that Supernatural monster show!
