Reviving this thread because I see there was a child abuse and neglect substantiated complaint on 7/5/2017. http://childcareconnections.osse.dc.gov/MyChildCare/ProviderProfile/2607/0/F_FacilityId=1813 Anyone here have any info or context on that?

I don't have any information, but would be curious to know if others have any information and if this issue is part of the reason for the planned move to the old Johnson's location in Tenleytown? Any information would be helpful.

Believe the reason for the planned relocation is the Whittle School. The Whittle School will be occupying the entirety of the former Intelsat building, in which BCDC is currently tenet.

DS is currently attending and we recall the incident. They would not tell us what happened in detail but the incident occured in the 3 year old classroom. Two members of staff were fired and replaced.

Any recent experience with BCDC? We have a spot at a daycare close to my work, but this would be closer to home and a very short commute for the little one...

We've had a good experience there. It's a smaller program, so more personalized.

We are considering enrolling our 2.5 year old at BCDC. Would appreciate any recent experiences. Curious to know about their discipline policy and how it’s truly applied in class room and are they loving towards all children or do you see preferential treatment for some but not all. Thanks in advance!

My kid goes here and loves it—everyone is kind and easygoing. Having said that...his classroom is closed for the second day in a row because they can’t find anyone to teach the class. It’s not a covid thing, his original teacher gave notice and the replacement backed out over the weekend, so we now have no daycare.

Have you seen or heard of incidences of teachers shouting or being aggressive with children. Also where my kid goes to we’ve experienced some children and their respective parents get special care and are more welcomed than others. Have you seen that at BCDC or do you see all kids and parents being treated equally and fairly.

How is the staff turnover? Have they been able to retain staff during covid, and is this classroom closure an isolated event? We are considering it so would appreciate your feedback
