Who else besides D.C. United? PWSI has lower age groups but not older. http://www.ussoccerda.com/u-13-14-club-map |
You're correct, I was looking at younger age groups and thinking of OPs question about CYA and son being a "solid" player. There are many clubs in NOVA that offer great travel experiences for "solid" travel players that have competitive teams in CCL/NCSL where joining a club for the opportunity of DA may not be the right fit at this time. |
My son is 2004 birth year. He has played cya teams before. They seem good.
Coaching is hit or miss even in best leagues. Bethesda. No. I hate driving to MD. I live in 22124 / zoned Thoreau My son likes comraderie more than soccer I think. I am looking at a long term club. We've switched clubs because of moves in home and it's a big pain. I'll look at Vienna. |
Bethesda South trains in various NoVa locations -- I think more in Great Falls in the next year. But you should only look there if you're really intent on chasing "elite" status. Just looking for friends? Zoned for Thoreau? I'd definitely try Vienna and maybe 1-2 nearby clubs as backups. As you say, coaching is hit or miss anywhere. Vienna has had a lot of turnover, but a lot of good coaches with good attitudes have come in. The technical director's a mess, but that doesn't directly affect your son. |
