i second the recommendation to just buy yourself a nice camera and take them yourself. Much more worth it in the long run. If you have a really nice camera and you read up a little bit about photography to have a very basic understanding of lighting and placement and whatever, you can take pretty good pictures (maybe not professional quality but very nice) and get much more out of it for your $$ over the years than you ever would by hiring photographers.

How do you get family photos this way? I'm the photographer in our house and I'm always the one NOT in the photo. That's part of the reason we did newborn photos and now pro photos once a year so that we can actually get all of us together.

I have a nice camera, but I don't have a nice lens. Or 2-3 nice lenses. And I don't know photoshop.

Not the same.

Once you get the hang of the camera you'll do just fine. Would you rather have amazing newborn pictures and shitty ones for the all the others? Or with some practice you can have great pictures all through your childs life.

And you dont need 2-3 lenses. I have just one. My entire camera setup was less than $1000 and i spent $300 on lessons.

Lauren Sheintal from Lauren Sheintal Photography. I have used her several times now and she is great with children/families of all ages. She recently did my whole family from 93 years old-1 year old. It was amazing! She is lifestyle as opposed to more traditional poses.

I used Mom360. They came to the hospital room and did magic with sheets and blankets. I didn't even have to stand up. Pictures were beautiful.

If you are willing to travel to Prince George's County, Teresa Castracane is wonderful and a lot cheaper than $1000.
