| For appeals, other than WISC scores, are there any other things that are recommended for submission -other tests, documents...? |
For appeals, FCPS is looking for new information. Anything that you have that is new for the student is good to include for an appeal. It may be a WISC report or it may be a new diagnosis from a doctor (such as but not limited to ADHD). |
| If anybody did WISC test recently, what is the price? I was quoted $390 at one practice. The lady sounded very nice and was recommended by a friend. Just wonder if the prices vary significantly from practice to practice or it is not worth calling around. |
I had called George Mason and they mentioned the same price of 390 for individual test. |
|
One thing to keep in mind with George Mason is who is administering the assessment. I think they generally use graduate students.
Depending on your child, you may want to use someone who has more experience working with children and administering the assessment. |
+1000. For the same price, you might as well get a licensed professional. GMU should give a discount for their testers' inexperience, but they don't. |

Got WISC V score 128 for my son . Just wondering what is the chance of getting into program with the appealing ?
Any insights are apperciated. |
FCPS trusts GMU more. Go with them |
Avoid! (And someone pops up with her name immediately after this question is asked. I strongly suspect she is sock puppeting). |
you noticed that?
|
Yeah. It's awful. Gotta be better ways to self promote. Is that against a Code of Conduct somewhere
BRW-- I say avoid as someone whose DC got into AAP based on her WISC. So no bad blood there. She was just awful to work with. So rushed and busy, busy, busy. She also made DC uncomfortable. |
| ^^BTW. Not BRW. |
Has anyone raised this with Jeff? (Maybe I'm jaded due to the other threads/postings on the special needs board.) |
What are the other scores? |
I've never thought that. I think lots do go to her. (Ever see the massive stack of envelopes containing scores there?). She wasn't rushed for us at all, but perhaps that's because we didn't go during the appeal window. My child was very relaxed with her. |
